dang

I know I promised to update soon, and here I come, more than 3 months later.. Feel free to shoot me in the knees with a kalachnikov several times.

The truth is I almost forgot this site :P Guess I'm growing too old for it.

To make it short: Kristen and I have bought an apartment! Well, that is - her parents have bought us one. Or: her parents HELPED us buy one. They're pretty big on real estate in Canada, and thought it'd be fun to get a place in Sweden as well. And if we should want to move out once, they can just sell it one for even more. Good deal, eh? It is so beautiful. Two bedrooms (one for us, one for... uh.. the dirty laundry?), biiiig kitchen for me to work my magic, wonderful living room with windows all the way up to the ceiling, and a big terrasse on the roof. With a cute ladder up to it. <3 Ooooh, and a bathroom with a jacuzzi!! We'll have much fun there :D It needed some re-decorating, so we only started moving in last friday. Coming along graeat though!

I haven't had any holiday yet this summer, been working day and night. This is my week off though, so now I can concentrate on moving, and on relaxing. Going to Karlstad for the weekend to see my mum, and then next week it's back to work. What a life.

Well well well!

I've always been lazy at updating, but I don't think it's ever been silent for THIS long! I apologize to my readers :)

It's been a very busy winter. Mostly it's been a bit turbulent because at christmas, my parents told everybody their new plan: moving to Australia. Everybody were pretty shocked, but after thinking about it some time we had to realize that this was something that they really wanted. I have a sister who's 13, so obviously she had to come with them. My older brother and I are left here in Sweden, and as my mother doesn't have much family and my father's family is german, my brother and I are pretty much the only Karlssons left here in Sweden. Well obviously we aren't, but the only ones from our family :p My parents and sister moved pretty quickly after christmas, and they left my brother with the responsibility of selling their house - as he lives in the same city. I've been helping him out with that a bit, and it's been pretty interesting. Actually it made me realize that real estate may be my path in life. Architecture sure is interesting, and I love it, but it takes a lot to succeed and it's very unsecure. So instead of drawing houses I want to sell them. I'm going to start studying business and sales in the fall.

Other than that, my love life still is great. Kristen and I live together, and it's going very well. She was supposed to move back to Canada this summer, but she applied a school here in Gothenburg so she can stay here with me. I'm so delighted :) One of the great things about our relationship is that it has so much future; it's so much more grown up than what I had with Lena. Kristen and I talk about having children and growing old together, and for me that's exactly what I need. I feel that I've become 3 years older since last summer... The school she applied for is interior design by the way, then maybe we can work together! She can make the houses look their best, I can babble about their great architecture and sell them. Sounds like a perfect match to me :)

I have some dinner cooking now, I want to surprise Kristen when she comes home from workout. It's so good to have someone to come home to, and someone to come home to you. I'll write more some other day - promise!

G'day - Robin

Right now I'm just exhausted.

Got home from a 18-day trip to Canada with Kristen last night, we both had such a great time. Highlights: meeting Kristen's family, hiking in the mountains, skiing (also in the mountains), seeing both "The Sleeping Beauty" and "The Maigc Flute" at the Toronto Opera and of course just being together with the woman I love :)

We've been talking to Sophie today, and we may (or may not) switch apartments so that Sophie takes over my apartment and I move in with Kristen. We don't really need two bedrooms, but we think it's a bit silly that we have to pay for 2 apartments when we always just stay in one anyways. Sophie wouldn't mind living on her own either, and Kristen and I could use a bit more room if we were to live together - my apartment is perfect for one, but in that special case two is a crowd :p You may think it's a bit early to move in together after only having been seeing each other for less than 2 months, but we both feel that our relationship is mature enough to handle that. Also, should it not work out, I can just move across the hall again.

I have a BUNCH of school work to get done now, so au revoir!! :)

Man, I should get better at updating this thing..

It's been almost a month since I updated, and SO much has happened. Don't know where to start really..

Remember the Canadian girls, Kristen and Sophie? We just started hanging out more and more, and started liking each other more and more. For me, I especially liked Kristen a lot.. Like I told you, she seemed like just my kind of girl, and that's exactly what she is. After a while our relationship got more complicated, especially after a kiss we shared.. We both admitted that we really liked each other, but she also told me that Sophie had a crush on me and that she'd probably be broken if Kristen and I got official. So we decided we'd just wait and see how our feelings would develop, and if Sophie's feelings would cool down after a while. It went on like this for.. a couple of weeks I guess, the three of us still hung together a lot, and it was still nice, but also a bit strange as Kristen and I had to consentrate to keep our hands and eyes off each other, and I started seeing things that Sophie did that I hadn't noticed before. Like how she'd sit and stare at me. It was pretty uncomfortable.. Especially as I kept thinking about her boyfriend. I know that people can love someone and still have a crush on someone else, but I still couldn't help thinking that something might be wrong between the two of them.. Whenever we could, Kristen and I met up secretly, and then we acted just like a couple in love, it was so nice. It might sound weird, but the whole secrecy thing made it even more exciting and wonderful.

One day Kristen was visiting me, she needed some help with an assignment she had on Swedish history. Naturally, we ended up making out on the couch. And, as if it was taken from some movie, Sophie came in and saw the whole thing. Here's where the fun part comes in. Kristen jumped up and was ready to help the sad, frustrated and broken hearted Sophie calm down, and I was sitting there in the couch, thinking of something to say. The thing is - there was no sad, frustrated and broken hearted Sophie. She just yelled "HAH! I KNEW it!! I've been trying to catch you for weeks now, I'm so sick of you two trying to keep this from me!!". Kristen and I were just staring at each other, and suddenly all of us started laughing. I was SO releaved to find that all our concerns had been for no reason, and that Sophie didn't really have a crush on me at all (she'd just mentioned to Kristen that "if I didn't have a boyfriend..."). Sophie was just so happy for us, and she said she'd been hoping for this to happen all along as she thought we'd make such a nice couple. We were all very relieved that everything had gotten out!

Now the three of us can hang together (almost) like before, and Sophie also lets Kristen and I be alone together whenever we want/need that. Everything is so perfect!! :D

Other than that, hm.. School is still good. I have an exam next week, but I'm pretty sure it'll be ok. Not that I can concentrate on anything else than my new girlfriend. :D

I hope you're all doing great!

New apartment

I have to get better at updating this place, I see that now. But this time I have a really good excuse! A couple of days after I made that last enrty I was looking through the newspapers at the apartments that were for rent,. and I found this really nice one room apartment only 10 minutes from school. So I went to see it, and it was so nice! A bit more expensive than what I'd imagined, but I figured if I got a job I'd make it. So I signed up, and the next day the owner called me and said I could have the apartment. I was so happy! I hadn't imagined it would be so easy to find my own place, everybody's complaining about how impossible it is to find somewhere nice.

So, the apartment. It's a one room apartment, 32m2 and a little loft where I sleep. There's a tiiiny balcony too, just about enough room for me to sit and take a cup of coffee in the morning and watch the city wake up. :) The place isn't big, but it's absolutely big enough for one person! I've made it pretty nice here with some old and some new furniture, pictures of my friends and family on the walls, and a little "media centre" with ps2, computer, tv, stereo etc. Typical guy's apartment! :D I moved in a week ago tomorrow, so it's not finished yet, still a few boxes and things I have to find a place for. But I have enough time to do that!

Across the hall of me, two girls from Canada live, Sophie and Kristen. They are so nice! We've really connected, I went there for dinner the other day, and they've been here to watch a movie. Kristen is a real beauty as well, she's got this long, black curly hair and big dark brown eyes. Just my kind of girl! She just broke up with her boyfriend too, so we've been talking about that quite a bit.. Nice to talk with someone in the same situation as I am! Sophie is, for me, the typical friends kind of girl. She's full of fun and energy, and I always get a good laugh around her. It feels like I've known them both for ages, even though it's only been a week! Sophie has a boyfriend who lives in Oslo, so she goes there quite a lot. She asked Kristen and I if we wanted to come in a couple of weeks, and I hope we can do that! I've only been to Oslo a couple of times before, but from what I can remember it's a really nice city. I have a couple of other friends who live there too, so it'd be good to be able to visit them. I try not to think of Kristen as a potential girlfriend, but I kinda can't help it. And who knows what can happen between two young people on vacation in Oslo? ;)

other than that, not much is happening. I've had some trouble with my internet connection, but I finally got it up today, so now I can start being active here again! Do I hear a "hooray"? :p
